Bedsteads are made up of a frame with static or sprung slats to support the mattress. They tend to be more decorative than divan bases and your choice will mainly be based on the aesthetics. However, you need to consider the support, static slats provide a firmer level of support, whereas a sprung unit will offer a more responsive surface.
